“...Centering in the vacant Chestertown Bank building and the Chester River, WaterLines fuses art, science, and social history exploring relationships, exchanges, and tensions among human action, the natural world, and the built environment.

Upon crossing the bank threshold and entering the banking hall, you step into a non-verbal “ur” space, one that heightens sensations and is simultaneously disorienting and reorienting.  The luminous mercurial poles (Eisenbach) and the sonic installation (Vrebalov) with its soft multiple layers surround you and invite you to turn inwards and consider a reality in which the seasons, the people and nature, the coded calls of fish, cicadas, morse code, the past and the future merge into the present...”
